How Do I Enter the FIRE & Embers Book Awards?

Once you have chosen the book title with the proper copyright date that you wish to enter in the competition, you will need to follow these step-by-step instructions.

​

1.      Go to this link to complete the FIRE Book Awards Entry Form online. Go to this link to complete the Embers Book Awards Entry Form online.

​

2.      Decide what category(s) where your book will fit. You can find all the categories at this link. If someone in the competition thinks your book needs to go into a different category, we will contact you to discuss a category change. If there is a change, it will be a mutual decision between the competition official and the author/publisher.

3.     Calculate your complete entry fee and choose your method of payment.

Final Submission Deadline — Postmarked by Midnight September 30, 2024
          Initial Entry — $75
          Up to 3 Additional Categories — $50 each

**If you are a publicist or publisher and have multiple books/authors which you would like to enter in the FIRE & Embers Book Awards, we will give you a 20% Discount on (5) or more entry fees. For more information and how to participate in this fashion, please email admin@FIREBookAwards.com. Please put "Multiple Entries" in the subject line.

4.     Once the information in the Online Entry Form is complete hit SUBMIT. Once you have submitted the entry form, an email will be sent to the email of the person who entered the book.

​

a.     Please print out two copies of the Online Entry Form email.

b.     Fold one Entry Form and place inside the cover of the hard copy of the book.

c.     Retain the other copy for your records.

d.     A copy will also be emailed to the competition personnel for their record keeping so they will be aware your entry is on its way.

5.      Package for mailing to the competition, one (1) hard copy (soft or hard cover) of your book. Please make sure to include a copy of your Entry Form inside the front cover.

​

6.      You will also need to supply the FIRE & Embers Book Awards with two free copies of your ebook to send to the judges for their evaluations. These digital copies of your book will be requested when you get your email verification we have received your submission in the mail.

7.      If you are unsure about anything please don't hesitate to email us.

9.     Is There A Minimum Word Count For Literary Entries?

​

• Fiction entries are limited to full-length novels consisting of 40,000 words or more.

• Non-fiction entries are limited to 30,000 words or more.

• Children’s Books do not have a minimum word count.

• Anthologies and Collections are limited to 30,000 words or more.

• Poetry Collections should have no less than 64 pages.
